Animation Controller Improvements


Modelers and animators will benefit from improvements to the Copy and Paste Animation commands that previously existed in 3ds Max.
Copy and Paste Animation no longer require matching controllers to be accessible through the right-click Context Menu. 3ds Max now assigns the correct controller, enabling the Copy and Paste workflow to operate as expected through the right-click Context Menu.

You can now Copy, and then Paste – Copy (or Paste – Instance) directly from an object or modifier parameter in the main UI, or Controllers in the Track View without first preparing the data. This improvement simplifies Animation and Modeling workflows for moving and linking data together between parameters, controllers, or different objects.

The UI controls Context Menu has also been updated so there are now Assign Controller and Reset to Default Control options. This new unified system lets you also see the controller parameter that you are copying and pasting.
